United Brass  STRAINERS

"Y" Pattern strainers are designed to provide protection for equipment having internal moving parts.  They are provided with blow-down outlets for easy clean out or solid cap for easy removal.

United Strainer with Ball Valve

 Strainers are used to protect valves and other operating equipment from dirt, scale, sludge, dust, etc. often present in the line.  If strainers are necessary, so is regular and frequent blow off to keep the screen element clean.  If this is not done, flow is restricted or clogged and the system will malfunction. 
The ball valve provides an easy blow off method to allow for this regular maintenance.  It eliminates the need of a wrench and sealant after each blow off.
